Join The London Library in New York for a special evening with Susan Jaffe Tane, co-curator of Poet of the Body: New York's Walt Whitman at the newly renovated Grolier Club. The exhibition commemorates Whitman's 200th birthday on 31 May 2019, and the role New York played in his extraordinary transformation into America's greatest poet.

Over drinks and hors d'oeuvres, guests will have the chance to view the exhibition and hear from Susan about its creation. The exhibition presents the story of Whitman's coming of age as a poet through a unique collection of rare books, manuscripts, and artefacts, many never before seen.
